Kimberly-Clark Recognized For Pioneering Efforts And Achievements In RFID

Dallas, Nov. 3, 2005 - Kimberly-Clark Corporation (NYSE: KMB) today announced that the company received the RFID Early Adopter Award from Consumer Goods Technology magazine at its Fall 2005 Conference in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. The award, presented for the first time this year, recognizes the consumer goods company that has most successfully implemented RFID technology. Cheryl Perkins, Kimberly-Clark's Senior Vice President and Chief Technical Officer, and Terry Assink, Vice President of Management Information Services for Kimberly-Clark, accepted the award on behalf of the company.

Kimberly-Clark was selected for this honor through nominations from consumer goods companies, retailers and technology vendors. The award winner was determined by the magazine's Editorial Advisory Board, which includes "C-suite" and VP-level consumer products executives.

"We are pleased to have earned this award. It underscores Kimberly-Clark's leadership position in the adoption and implementation of RFID technology," said Perkins. "As we continue to explore the potential of RFID technology, we believe it will enable K-C to reduce our supply chain costs, increase efficiencies in our operations, and more importantly, ensure we are an 'indispensable partner' to our retail customers, delivering the right product to the right customer at the right time."
