Kimberly-Clark Receives Perfect Score on 2011 Corporate Equality Index

DALLAS, Oct. 15, 2010 - Kimberly-Clark Corporation (NYSE:KMB) announced today it has achieved a 100 percent rating on the 2011 Corporate Equality Index, the annual survey conducted by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation that measures major businesses' efforts for supporting workplace equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) employees. This is the second year that Kimberly-Clark has received this top rating and it will be featured again on HRC's "Best Place to Work" list as well as the organization's annual "Buying Guide for Equality."

"We are honored to be recognized again by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation for our efforts towards building a diverse and inclusive working environment," said Rhonda Gibby, vice president of Talent Management, Organizational Effectiveness and Diversity. "Maintaining this top rating for two consecutive years demonstrates our ongoing commitment to diversity and we look forward to further progress in support of our global workforce."

Gibby continued, "Essential to our diversity efforts is PRIDE @ K-C, the company's LGBT employee group. Members of this group continue to partner with our leadership team to evaluate and enhance workplace policies, and help attract and retain top talent."

The Human Rights Campaign is the largest civil rights organization in the United States working to achieve lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender equality. By inspiring and engaging all Americans, HRC strives to end discrimination against LGBT citizens and build a nation that achieves fundamental fairness and equality for all.

Since it launched in 2002, the Corporate Equality Index has become the standard by which companies are measured in regard to LGBT diversity and inclusion. The Index, which this year rated 844 businesses in total, evaluates LGBT-related policies and practices including non-discrimination policies, transgender health benefits and domestic partner benefits. Kimberly-Clark's efforts in ensuring LGBT equality in each of the survey's main criterion earned it the prestigious 100 percent ranking.
